“Workers in skilled trades set to receive more career help from MOM, starting with electricians”
Speaking in Parliament, Manpower Minister Dr. Tan See Leng announced that his ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Specialist Trade Alliance of Singapore to provide a more structured and skills progression ladder and apprenticeships for electricians.
This MOU is part of the government’s efforts to uplift the skilled trades in Singapore, as these trades play an important role in our country’s transition to a green and AI-powered economy.
SECA is proud to play a lead role as the pilot skilled trade of this initiative. While we recognise the significant work required to build this from the ground up, we are confident that the collaborative support of STAS, MOM and the various industry partners will ensure the success of this initiative.
By improving the quality, productivity, and recognition of our tradespeople, we are building a more resilient future for Singapore’s electrical industry.
