We met up with representatives from the Community Liaison Unit (CLU) of the Prime Minister’s Office via Zoom today to discuss on the impact of Covid-19 on the construction industry, particularly on electrical contractors and workers.
We would like to thank the CLU in taking the time effort for this constructive meeting. Challenges faced by our members in areas such as a general decrease in business activities, worker productivity, increases in materials costs, manpower shortages, changing / new policies, and attracting the younger generation to join our industry were raised and noted during this meeting.
As an association representing our industry members, SECA will continue to engage the CLU to feedback our members’ concerns directly. We strongly believe that such direct feedback will better enable the various government institutions in community-engagements and policy roll-outs, and enable our members and industry to progress.
