SECA Member Syntigro Engineering Pte Ltd’s Mr Koh Jia Xing was featured in Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 on his journey as a young engineer in the electrical trade.

In an industry facing an aging workforce, it is imperative that the electrical industry continues to attract the younger generation to join our industry.

One of the recent measures announced by Manpower Ministry Dr Tan See Leng was that MOU signed with the Specialists Trade Alliance of Singapore (STAS) to develop a career and skills advancement ladder and apprenticeship system for the electrical industry.

The pilot initiative starting off with the electrical industry, and with this experience, to explore whether to extend these initiatives to other technical sectors such as plumbing and air conditioning maintenance.
